About Me

Hello! My name is Mr. Grayson Mento, and I teach Chorus and Orchestra at Mililani

Middle School on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. I graduated from Hilo High School

in 2013, and began my teaching career in 2017 after graduating from Indiana

University's Jacobs School of Music with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education.

In 2020, I was a presenter in the Hawaii Music Educator's Association Conference. My presentation was titled "Student Leadership, Autonomy, and Alternative Formats in Instrumental Education".

​

I started band in 7th grade, where I first began playing the euphonium. While euphonium is my primary instrument, I also am passionate about popular forms of music. I am the guitarist/background singer of the local band Gensen and the Hurricanes.  I also write write original music.
